I am an enthusiastic, proven leader with 18+ years of experience in underwriting, sales, & territory/relationship management in the property & casualty insurance industry. In my career I have personally recruited, hired, & trained 300+ individuals. I am passionate about coaching & staff development. My background includes both Business to Consumer and Business to Business Sales. I have extensive experience managing a call center environment (both inbound & outbound programs), building relationships, developing territories, & underwriting. I have managed both in-house and outsourced multi-million dollar sales programs. My peers would describe me as a competitive, strategic, trustworthy, dependable, team player. Prior to working at The Hartford I led sales programs for two different organizations where we served a variety of different business customers selling everything from sporting goods to doing lead generation for mortgage companies. In 2005 I started my career at The Hartford in Personal Lines where I won the Sales Achievement Circle twice. In 2007 I became a Small Commercial Renewal Underwriter where I learned the commercial side of the business. I quickly transitioned over to the New Business team as a Sales Underwriter, being promoted to Senior Underwriter in 2010. In this role I sold and underwrote Property/Liability/Workers Comp/Auto and was awarded Winners/Honors Circle 4 years in a row. I finished my MBA in 2011 and was promoted to leadership in 2012. I currently manage a Team Leader, Production Underwriters, and Sales Support. With the help of my team I won Honors Circle for the 5th time in 2016. I recently graduated from UConn Law with a Master of Laws degree (Insurance Law) in May 2020.In our free time my wife and I enjoy boating, motorcycling, barbecuing, and hiking. I regularly volunteer for both Junior Achievement & Foodshare.
