My career began as an Office Manager in the what was the flagship building in Marble Arch with a small - medium sized organisation known as London School of Business & Finance (LSBF). My first insight into FM being the renovation of the building to house both students and head office functions, with a royal opening just 3 months later. After many long, arduous hours and a great learning curve we had a successful opening.Due to growth and expansion of the organisation and self motivation my career progressed to Branch Manager. In this role, Office Managers and Reception staff report directly into me with overall responsibility front of house, customer satisfaction, landlords / managing agents, health & safety &, faculty staff & schools, facilities: maintenance, cleaning, security, PPMs, contractors and budgeting. As a result of the fast paced growth, the organisation managed via short term strategies; therefore many hours were devoted to spare management emergencies; relocation's; renovations; procurement: furnishings / refurbishing to ensure classes were housed in central London.LSBF grew to become Global University Systems (GUS) an international umbrella group consisting of more than 20 institutions including LSBF, University of Law, St Patricks, Arden University. In 2017 I was promoted to Health & Safety Manager for GUS due to my learnt skills and hands on knowledge of the role . A most challenging role to ensure all UK buildings have safe systems of work in place through redrafting of policies, implementing training and monitoring processes with buy in from all levels of management. Along side my H&S responsibilities I still oversee the facilities management functions ensuring all soft and hard services are meeting SLAs. I meet with our landlords and partner institutions on a regular basis with progress reports to prove we performing to standard with the added safety element of ensuring log cards and work sheets are recorded for auditing purposes.
