The Grounds Department currently maintains all external gardens and grounds including repairs to roads/paths and structures.The department also maintains all external sports facilities for the University of Salfordthe University was accredited with a Green Flag Award in 2019

I manage a team of gardening and hard landscaping workers who maintain the Universities campus' which includes some horticulture apprentices. I also manage external contractors from supplier set up through to permit issuing and tendering.

In my roll i managed the Health and Safety requirements within the Landscaping Department at the University of Salford. This includes testing of all handheld powered tools for vibration magnitudes and compiling reports for individual pieces of equipment. I also produce safe operating procedures for all equipment. I am qualified to a level 3 NVQ in Horticulture and have my Tractor, Trailer and attachments NVQ, PA1 & PA6 pesticide application qualifications, Abrasive wheel and chainsaw awareness. I also allocate work to grounds staff and I cover for the head of the Landscape while he is on leave. I have years of experience using all Microsoft Office programs.
