Provide strategic direction, formulate policy, set standards and enforce standards. Duties include building of AIX and Red Hat Linux servers utilizing VMware, BladeLogic, Red Hat Satellite and IBM lpars. Provide 24x7 support of all aspects of the operating system, as well as provide support via an in house ticketing system. Other responsibilities include maintenance requests, disaster recovery exercises, Vulnerability management utilizing Qualys and ESM scanning, and project assignments. Our team is also responsible for installation of various middleware components such as Autosys, DB2, java and web server engines as well as application server middleware, adding storage via LVM and Oracle RAC raw storage. The environment conforms to strict ITIL standards using the HP ITSM software suite.

Duties include production support of all internal and external secure bank transmissions. Transmissions are performed utilizing Gentran Intigration Suite (an IBM Sterling Software product) on IBM AIX platforms. Responsible for managing SFTP, FTPS, SSH, all web site and key pair digital certificates, as well as creating all customer digital certificates via Entrust Administration authority. I provide tier 3 support of all production issues and maintenance.

Responsible for all phases of implementing new solutions at Bank of America facilities through out the US data centers. Including purchase quotes, equipment placing, lan, power, racking and fiber configuration, access control via Active Directory, RFC process, and specifying all build technical criteria to build engineers. Architected solutions and oversaw system administrators in implementing web based solutions on Linux (RHEL) and AIX operating systems. Hardware included HP Blade centers, IBM blade centers, IBM 36X and 38X series as well as HP Power systems.

Responsible for over 600 UNIX based servers of various sizes and models. Including IBM P series running AIX in standalone and VIO configurations, Sun Solaris, HP operating HP/UX, and Linux virtual servers. Lead Administrator for CVS.COM web site. Headed infrastructure project for implementation of 30 Sun Microsystems servers to support this large effort. Later migrated the entire environment to the AIX operating system utilizing P550Q Hardware, lpars, and vio servers.Built and configured Apache and Iplanet web servers from source. Configured web servers for proxy and reverse proxy front end servers, utilizing Weblogic and or Tomcat middleware as the application servers. I was also responsible for “hardeneing” the operating system and web server, running Qualys and ESM scans, configuring secure connections as well as disabling any ports which were identified as potential threats. Lead Administrator for the CVS Portal infrastructure. Built and maintained 24 Sun Systems in order to serve over 50,000 internal and external users. This is the prime portal for all in house CVS/Pharmacy applications. This solution utilized LDAP as a primary authentication method as well as Siteminder components for authorization.Designed and wrote the web based Unix support ticketing system used in house for the support of all Unix based issues. Languages used included html, PERL, Shell and JavaScript. Work closely with CVS system architects and project managers on numerous projects requiring a special knowledge base and my areas of expertise. Most projects were web based, utilizing a front end proxy or reverse proxy server, an application server (Tomcat or Weblogic) and a back end database utilizing Oracle. I am considered the in house expert with regard to web servers, and also work closely with the IS Security team to identify and address vulnerabilities.
