Kearny is located in northern New Jersey less than 10 miles west of Manhattan and New York City. The town is approximately 9 square miles and has a population of over 42,000 residents. The municipal government has an annual operating budget of over $90 million and over 400 town employees.

Assisted city government and municipal administration advance and implement major initiatives including: Washington Street Redesign Project ($17.5M), Acquisition of former BASF property for park space and stormwater management ($30M), Coordination of H5 Flood Pump financing and construction for flood control ($11M), acquisition of Block 12 for park and open space ($4.48M), construction of Southwest Park ($4.9M), Rebuild By Design Hudson River Project ($230M), and Hoboken Microgrid project for energy resiliency.

Hoboken is a dynamic one-square mile urban community directly across the Hudson River from New York City (midtown Manhattan), with a population of over 50,000+, a municipal budget of over $100 million and 550+ city employees. Working in a strong-mayor "Faulkner Act" municipality with a city administration, municipal council, department directors and community all committed to positive change across all aspects of city government. Actively working toward improving productivity in a civil service context; upgrading and increasing utilization of IT; acquiring new open space for parks and developing new recreation facilities; managing the rehabilitation Observer Highway, dealing with severe flooding and other issues of failing infrastructure; pursing green infrastructure to reduce flooding, storm water run-off and non-point source pollution; and facilitating the reexamination of municipal plans and update of zoning ordinances, all within the context of reducing the local property tax burden.

Provided staff support and technical assistance to the Hudson County Planning Board, Hudson County Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy "CEDS" Committee and the Hudson County Open Space Advisory Board/Environmental Advisory Board. Managed the planning, design, permitting and construction of the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway at Weehawken Cove. Monitored 100 projects funded by the Open Space Trust Fund totaling over $43 million. Reviewed over 750 site plan and subdivision applications for private development and redevelopment. Organized the successful update and re-write of the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy "CEDS" which was approved by the U.S. Department of Commerce in March 2012. Managed the drafting and adoption of the 2010 Hudson County Community Indicator Report, the 2008 Hudson County Master Plan Reexamination Report, the 2008 Hudson County Land Development Regulations for Smart Growth and Sustainable Development, the 2005 Hudson County Open Space, Recreation and Historic Preservation Plan, the 2004 Hudson River Waterfront Walkway Implementation Plan, the 2003 Hudson County "Cyber District" Feasibility Study, the 2002 Hudson County Master Plan and the 1999 Strategic Revitalization Plan for the Hudson County "Urban Complex". Managed numerous federally funded transportation studies, including the 2011 Jersey City-Hoboken Connectivity Study, the 2009 River Road/Hudson Waterfront Circulation Study, the 2007 Hudson County Bus Circulation and Infrastructure Study, and the 2005 North Hudson Bicycle and Pedestrian Study. Assisted drafting the ballot language for the 2004 referendum establishing the Hudson County Open Space Trust Fund which was approved by 2/3 of county voters in the November 2004 general election. Assisted writing the Hudson County Open Space Trust Fund Policy and Program Statement.

Conducted transportation planning and rideshare coordination for companies in the NJ Meadowlands district; also assisted Port Authority of New York and New Jersey with airport employee vanpool and transit services at EWR Newark International Airport.

Served as a committee aide to the NJ General Assembly Housing Committee and Assembly Municipal Government Committee.
