About Stephen D. Phillips

Passion, Preparation, Persistence. That is the attitude Steve brings to the courtroom. After graduating from Loyola University of Chicago School of Law, he has devoted over 36 years to fighting for the rights of individuals and families whose lives have been drastically changed by catastrophic injury or death. Steve was elected President of the Illinois Trial Lawyers, one of the largest and most prominent bar associations in Illinois. He has secured a number of record verdicts throughout Illinois and the U.S. He is also a fellow in the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, which promotes the rule of law internationally and seeks to elevate the standards of integrity, honor, and courtesy in the legal profession. Membership is limited to 500 lawyers worldwide. Following in the footsteps of his father, John G. Phillips, Steve joined the firm in 1985, taking over as managing partner in 2001. Steve is regarded as one of the best trial lawyers in the state and is often asked by defendants and defense attorneys to represent their relatives.
