Colleagues describe him as "Mr. Davenport (Stephen) Was a very inspiring teacher and always made time for me. He would often open the music facilities during lunch to allow some of us to play various instruments. He was always ready to help and ready to teach us and had a very easy going manner about him. Mr. Davenport was one of the favourite teachers at the school and had a way of connecting with his students on a level which allowed us to want to learn and allowed us to pursue our passions. He was extremely proficient at teaching and also made additional time and resources available. He was a really good team lead, with 4 other supply teachers, in a versatile set of skills, from steel pans, piano, synthesizer, and all manner of percussion. He also instilled in us creativity and a passion for music that a few of us have carried through to this day."
