Working in the Product Assurance group at RAL Space on various ESA projects. My work includes hardware inspection, non-conformance management including root cause analysis, and ensuring compliance to applicable ECSS procedures and standards.
This was an interdisciplinary project, where I worked on applying an existing non-destructive test technology to concrete through lab and theoretical work. I made the decision to focus research on the practicalities of using the technology in an industrial context. I was solely responsible for the management of time and resources for the project, including coordinating with technicians to perform experiments.Most of my computational work was done in MATLAB to obtain and visualise tomography results, and I also used Python for data analysis and visualisation.Part of the project was done in the lab , and I carried out practical work including production of mortar specimens and electrical data acquisition, using various processes and equipment including 3D printers and laser cutters.
During my PhD I also worked as a teaching assistant on modules in the mechanical and electrical engineering departments, helping undergraduates using MATLAB for numerical modelling and Arduino for control systems assignments.
