Currently working with young people, in supported accommodation, who mostly come from care experienced backgrounds. My role in assistant manager and supporting and developing the staff team; i. providing high quality support.I’m a firm believer in building relationships in a positive way to making a connection and achieve goals. Also working on a balanced platform as much as possible, with both staff and service users. Prior to my current role I was with the same organisation for over 17 years, working in different roles, environments and with adults with different support needs. The last 5 of the years were managing the day to day running of a housing support service. Supporting a staff team working with at times over 40 service users in the North of Glasgow. Throughout the span of the 17 years I primarily worked with people with mental health support needs; acute, long term and enduring and forensic needs. I also worked for a period in supporting people with autism and others falling within the remit of criminal justice legislation. Away from work I utilise my leadership and management in a head coach role at Loch Lomond Rugby Club. As well as coaching the team I regularly play on a Saturday and am able to lead on the park as well.
