Hypolimnetic oxygenation assessment work with specific emphasis on impacts on the aquatic mercury cycle. Managed field campaigns to collect water quality samples both temporally and spatially. Developed Class 100 clean space lab for trace mercury analysis and analyzed mercury samples using a DMA 80 direct mercury analyzer, and the MERX total and methyl mercury analytical system.2006-2007: Investigated the dynamics of the mercury cycle across the sediment/water interface using laboratory incubations. Conducted trace mercury laboratory and data analysis. Investigated the use of Solid Phase Micro Extraction fibers as a biomimetic surrogate for benthic invertebrate mercury uptake.2005-2007: Teaching assistant for Environmental Measurements and Hydrology. Managed laboratory setup, oversaw student work, graded tests and homework, and taught classes.; Conducted educational outreach for WSU's Culturally Relevant Engineering Application in Mathematics (CREAM) (Funding NSF GK-12 Program). Mentored high school students in statewide sustainability based design competition. Although the high school was one of the poorest performing schools in the state, they went on to win the competition grand prize, and have continued to participate and do well each year following using the design strategy I implemented for them. Created class curriculum to enhance high school exposure to engineering.

In charge of writing and implementing the Environmental Challenge, an environmental themed design competition for students attending the regional conference.

Investigated mercury flux from remote forest floors at multiple sites in Montana, digested and analyzed carbo-traps and soil samples using Flow Injection Mercury Hydride System (FIMS), and performed real time mercury flux measurements using a UT-3000 Ultra Tracer gold trap sampler. Also, received Study Abroad Fellowship, and investigated flux models at the University

Collected air samples and meteorological data and compiled quarterly reports for the Department of Environmental Quality. Sampled and monitored all on-site water seepages, along with survey and design of reclamation slopes. Managed equipment operators in the construction of reclamation sites.
