Mr. Doty is the Program Manager of Joint Naval Audit Certification Program. He is responsible for the oversight of the certification of the Navy Primary Standards Laboratory as well as all Navy and Marine Corps Depot Level Calibration Laboratories. Steve also serves as the Subject Matter Expert on issues of Laboratory Accreditation for the Navy’s METCAL Program.

Mr. Doty became a staff member of NIST’s National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) in October 1997, and was responsible for the domestic and international proficiency testing program, as well as other aspects of laboratory accreditation until his departure in May of 2005.
