Provide health physics and radiation safety services throughout the Cone Health System including:1) Physics Inspections including Output testing, Post Installation Surveys, Shield Designs and Lead protective Equipment.2) Radiation Safety Training for Cone Health radiation workers3) Assists in the development, implementation, coordination, evaluation and continuous improvement of the radiation safety program.4) General surveillance of overall activities and areas in which radioactive materials/radiation sources are used.5) Support the compliance of rules and regulations, authorized users and research projects approval as specified by the Radiation Safety Officer or Radiation Safety Committee.6) Consultation on radiation protection with department radiation safety liaisons.7) Determination of need and evaluation of personnel monitoring, and implementation of instructional programs on safe procedures in the use of radiation sources.8) Perform routine radiological evaluations using methods such as direct survey, wipe test, and exposure surveys.

Provide medical and health physics services to client facilities throughout NC, SC and VA to include:1) Physics inspections of radiographic equipment.2) Shielding designs for radiographic equipment.3) Post installation area surveys for shielding evaluation.4) Lead Protective Equipment Inspections.5) Radiation safety training in-services.6) Nuclear medicine physics audits and support.7) Leak tests of sealed sources.
