Responsible for the construction processes associated with the opening of 39 McDonald's restaurant premises in Scotland and N. Ireland. Responsibilities including feasibilities, design, permitting and project management.Role also included planning strategic of changes within the roles, responsibilities and procedures of the company's new store development processes, through the adoption of systems established at Cranfield University.

Contracts Manager for building contractor, working on the construction of projects for clients in the retail, industrial and leisure industries. Responsibilities included programming, profit management, sub-contractor procurement, plant, labour and material requisition and site management.

Construction of 38 new discount supermarkets throughout Scotland and the North of England.Key functions included development appraisals, input to preparation and negotiation of leases, pre-funding and sale/lease-back agreements, licenses for work and collateral warranties.

Employed to introduce building surveying discipline into Quantity Surveying practice and to strengthen fledgling project management business.Key projects included complete relocation of Edinburgh headquarters of a global pharmaceutical company to new build office development, which included negotiations on land and building costs, preparation of design briefs and development monitoring/control.
