• Gained experience on the roads and bridges aspects of highways construction.• Responsible for a ≈£3m section of works that including a cut and cover tunnel and two large retaining walls.• Experience on track as the principle engineer to the construction of Parkfield Road Railway Bridge.• Six months spent managing the site document control system. During this period I made some noteworthy improvements to the system, many of which have been adopted throughout the Carillion Civil Engineering business.• Gained position as ‘Head of the Remedial Team’, where I received a special commendation in the official Carillion company newsletter.• Head a team of 6 graduates charged with re-evaluating construction methods and logic employed in the project critical path. The solutions presented by the team have been incorporated into the revised programme producing a timescale saving of three months along with a cost saving of £2.5 million.
