Performer, teacher, composerI have been an instrumental teacher since the 1980s, in schools and privately. Initially I taught mainly flute and some piano, then gradually the harp took over. More recently I’ve added the hammered dulcimer. Now my teaching is exclusively harp and dulcimer.I write a great deal of music for my pupils: solos, duets, ensembles, most of which I publish myself; it’s available for purchase directly from me, or from harp dealers. I’ve also written for various wind instruments and piano, and for percussion. Additionally, I have written numerous varied pieces for children’s percussion ensembles, intended for non-specialists, and ideal for use in schools. I haven’t published any of this, but if there are any publishers out there who are interested, I’d be very keen to hear from them!As a performer I prefer to provide background music for dinners, parties, wedding receptions etc., either solo harp, harp and guitar, or dulcimer and guitar. The greater part of my repertoire is Celtic.
