Worked for Amey Consulting as a Track Access Planner, my role consists of Possession Planning for the Design Section and Earthworks as well as providing SSOW Packs and Proficient Permits, signing and authorising other areas SSOW Packs as Responsible Manager, I have to attend Area Planning meetings on behalf of Amey to ensure Possession access is discussed in detail to prevent any problems occurring on-site.

I worked for Network Rail as an Operation Planner, I Transferred to Network Rail via TUPE arrangement from Amey on 01/04/2014.I currently cover LNW North area, my role consists of Planning Possession & Isolations. Inputting GZAC Requests, creating SSOW Packs and Task Briefing Sheets for Day to Day works and Possession works.I attend DPP and Area Planning meetings and Picop Briefings for our planned works, I have to liaise with other departments and contractors to arrange access and come to agreements/compromise to resolve work clashes.I also arrange RRV Plant and Road MEWPS for Bridge, Tunnel and Station examinations as well as raising purchase orders for these. Also resourcing all Safety Critical Staff and again arranging purchase orders ensuring best value for money is gained.I have to plan Traffic Managements which involve discussions with Local Councils and Network Rail as well as the Traffic Management provider.Manage De-vegetation works and sub-contractors to allow facilitation for Structure Examiners to undertake detailed tactile examination of structures.Manage access for Sub-contract Roped Access teams arranging wheels free possession access to allow anchorage to running rails to allow abseil of underbridges and viaducts.At weekends I work on site doing duties ranging from Engineering Supervisor to DC Isolations and undertaking site safety audits.My role includes On-Call Duty Manager which consists of deploying Structure Examiners to Bridge Strikes/Faults, logging and advising upon Possession issues and escalating within Network Rail when required and documenting lone workers and their locations and remaining in contact to ensure they are safe whilst on site alone.I also have an Assistant Planner who works under me, managing workload and reviewing work quality and signing off SSOW Packs as Responsible Manager.

I worked at Amey Consulting CEFA as an Operation Planner covering LNW Central West, my roles consist of Planning Possessions and AC or DC Isolation through PPS and attend the Area Planning Meetings and Picop Meetings if required to discuss my works. Booking Line Blockages through the GZAC System, producing the SSOW Packs and Task Briefing Sheets for site. I procure Safety Critical Staff and Plant and Machinery and also arrange Road Closures dealing with Network Rail and the Local Councils/Highways Agencies. I also produce Day to Day SSOW Packs for the Structural Examiners to undertake routine Visual Examinations of Structures. I also review other areas SSOW Pack and sign off as Responsible Manager if required. Part of my duties is to act as On Call Duty Manager.

I Transferred to Network Rail along with my colleagues at First Engineering Outside Parties under TUPE Arrangements in March 2006My planning area automatically became larger as I was now the only Possession / Isolation / Rimini Planner for all North West Outside Parties Areas.During my time with Network Rail I have successfully planned all North West Outside Parties Possessions and IsolationsI arranged all contingent labour, briefing them on the role requirements and works taking placeI submit Picop and Nominated Persons requests and ensure these are processed for my works.I have to liaise with Area Delivery Planning Managers and their staff, discussing my works and requirements at weekly planning meetings and Monthly DPPP Meetings. Since my transfer to the Major Projects and Investment team, I have also been asked to plan various Major jobs, I have planned continued T3 Possessions, whether disruptive access or Rules of the Route opportunities for Gretna – Annan Re-doubling project, this has included having to discuss requirements with contractors, discussing and resolving any rail Possession issues e.g Train paths and access, also the planning of TSR’s.I have successfully planned Rail Possessions and Isolations for the Demolition of BR75X Hough Lane which is situated on the West Coast Mainline and also
