With 20 years of experience as a CAD Specialist and BIM Technician in the Structural Engineering field, including 13 of those years at a multi-discipline A&E firm, I have acquired many skills and found multiple ways to use my talents to help provide clean, concise graphical drawings and strive to make all communication between the engineering team and production staff as clear as possible, deliving the highest standard of construction documents. Here is a breakdown of some of my experience:Structural BIM Technician – Project Specific TasksResponsible for setting up, coordinating, and maintaining Structural Revit models for multiple projects and multiple design teams, as well as translating markups by Engineers into Construction Documents at all phases of construction.Structural BIM Technician – Corporate LevelResponsible for maintaining the Structural Revit Model Template as directed by the Structural Standards Committee as well as ensuring the Structural Revit Model conforms to all Corporate Revit and Graphical Standards. Also involved in testing and rolling out various Revit related Plug-Ins and Applications, in some cases across various Disciplines.BIM Job Captain – Project Specific TasksResponsible for working with Project Manager to coordinate Project Information and Corporate Graphical Standards to all production members on all disciplines of the project as well as updating team members of submittal dates and requirements for all deliverables. Also responsible for setting up Clash Detection and Graphic Reviews.Video Production AssistantAssisted in creating an internal “tips and tricks” video series to help foster discussion across disciplines for Revit and other design related software. Also contributed to scripting and editing various videos to promote new software rollouts, for use as promotional material online, or for use in training materials.
