Steve is a national security and trade associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP and is admitted to practice law in Washington, D.C. Prior to his legal career, Steve served as a lieutenant commander in the United States Navy. A veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom - Afghanistan, he led teams in fast-paced, operational settings and gained extensive experience with interagency coordination. Steve holds a J.D./LL.M. in National Security Law from Georgetown University Law Center, a master's in Middle Eastern and Central Asian Security Studies from the University of St Andrews, and a bachelor's from Williams College. He has published articles on international humanitarian law, international trade, and foreign affairs. Steve has an intermediate proficiency in French (DLPT 3/2) and Italian (3/2+) as well as an elementary knowledge of Turkish.
