Experienced Engineer. Passionate about building modern platforms and frameworks, driving transformation and developing top technical talent.As Barclays' Group Chief Technology Officer and Head of Group Technology Infrastructure Services, I’m responsible for Enterprise Architecture, Distinguished and Expert Engineers, Process and Portfolio Execution, Innovation and E2E infrastructure services worldwide. With combined oversight of c4,500 colleagues, my aim is to drive the connection and collaboration across the Chief Technology Office (CTO) and Group Technology Infrastructure Services (GTIS) to help effectively deliver on strategic priorities. This ensures that any technology decisions are closely aligned with the organisation’s goals and objectives, in collaboration with Business and Technology leads across Barclays, to achieve the best outcome for all our customers, clients, and colleagues.Prior to joining Barclays, I worked at JP Morgan (JPMC) for over 20 years. My work ranged from creating and leading significant portions of the CTO to working extensively in the Corporate Investment Bank (CIB) and Asset Wealth Management (AWM) business lines. I delivered various platforms, including JPMC’s Advanced Data Ecosystem, Enterprise Toolchain and services and many other critical initiatives to over 50,000 technology employees. As a JPMC Distinguished Engineer, I also chaired the Global Technology Architecture Committee, co-chaired JPMC’s global tech hub strategy and managed JPMC's drive to public cloud.In earlier years at JPMC, I headed up Architecture and Data for AWM, ran the firm-wide Agile Transformation Program and had various Lead Roles in Equities, Investment Management and Firmwide Architecture. As the Glasgow technology hub lead, I oversaw the growth of that location from 500 to over 2,000 technologists and held numerous patents specialising in Engineering Efficiency.I hold a BSc in Mathematical Sciences and a Masters in Information Technology. Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with my wife and three daughters, engage in various musical hobbies and like to go out walking with my dogs.
