Direct reports include the associate director for business and operations, and the associate director for residence life; overseeing business operations, assignments, facilities, marketing, summer conference services, dining, residence life and conduct. Overall responsibility for a total of 19 professional and 40 student employees in a program averaging 1000 residents.Budget development and management of $7 million including personnel and operations.Selected Achievements• Transformed the housing services department to a student focused and positive work environment with staff team through: staffing changes, training, team creation of a departmental mission statement, and increased staff participation in policy development and implementation.-Increased revenue 28% and increase occupancy rate from 71% to 96%. -Renovated 26 unit apartment complex including constructing an ADA compliant duplex. -Built the first residential dining commons and created residential dining service for 500 students.-Created a residential honors housing program in collaboration with the university honors college.-Implemented gender neutral housing option to meet emerging student need.-Increased student satisfaction with the housing experience through enhanced residence life programming, community outreach and student centered judicial system.-Addressed significant deferred maintenance issues by creating an assistant director for facilities position, increasing maintenance staffing, investing over $1.5 million a year in capital improvements, and initiating a planned maintenance procedure.-Increased student safety by hiring two additional live-on professional residence life staff, instituting professional on-call system and developing community awareness among residents resulting in a 47% decrease in police reports.
