Oakland Leaf cultivates community transformation through creative education for youth and families. The goal: embolden youth to be creative leaders who actualize a more loving, just, and vibrant Oakland.Responsible for all facets of development and marketing including: grant writing, corporate partnerships, individual giving campaigns, major donor solicitations, event planning, annual reports, newsletters, social media and other branding and marketing collateral for the organization

Coordinate and implement development strategies for three Northern California Playworks operations -- San Jose, San Francisco, and the East Bay Area.

Grant writing and foundation management, individual donor outreach and cultivation, corporate partnership outreach and cultivation, social media management, volunteer outreach, AmeriCorps Vista supervision, major donor and special events coordination, and executive assistance. • Increased income through diversified funding sources (corporate, individual and foundations) by 300% over a 3-year period, from $250,000 to $750,000• Established a volunteer program connecting more than 200 volunteers and 1,500 hours of service with more than 15,000 students in Playworks programming. • Managed multiple year, six-figure partnerships with private and public foundations. • Led expansion team efforts to secure a partnership with the city of Milwaukee, WI. Currently provide 15 schools with Playworks programming.

Identify and implement initiatives to address specific weaknesses, challenges and issues hindering Playworks' successful growth and organizational development. Projects focus primarily on on fund development, external promotion, new business development and infrastructure related to the demands of being a national organization with locally-run operations.

Responsible for supporting all facets of development in the national office. Specific duties include: grant writing and reporting, foundation prospecting and relationship management, supporting city directors in their development strategy (foundation management, grant editing, etc.), event organizing (Corporate Kickball Tournament 2008), writing for external communications (newsletter, annual report), support for individual giving campaigns and executive assistance on multiple levels.

Specific duties include: direct supervision of 11 site coordinators in 05-06 and 9 in 06-07; coordinated multiple sports leagues; managed relationships with principals, provided on-going professional development trainings for staff, created and implemented Americorps civics training; interviewed and checked references for potential site coordinators; provided community and teacher trainings; lead group of volunteers to Houston in Hurricane Katrina relief effort.

Offered structured recess activities to nearly 1,000 elementary school students daily, led a youth leadership program, coordinated an after-school homework, healthy snack and physical activity program, coached multiple developmental sports teams (girls basketball and flag football, boys basketball, and co-ed soccer, volleyball and flag-football), provided professional development trainings to staff of 35 teachers, instructed physical activity classes for entire school.
