*Underwrite and make loan decisions on consumer, indirect auto and home equity loans based on application input data. Obtains and evaluates credit bureau reports, income documentation, collateral valuation reports, flood certifications, title information, and other factors relevant to the underwriting of consumer loans.*Responsible for communicating loans decisions to Processors, Loan Closing Associates and auto dealerships including the ability to discuss loan denials and loan alternatives in a clear, concise, and courteous manner.*Maintains positive working relationships with the preferred dealers of Ardent Credit Union; conducts joint visits with Dealer Relationship Manager on an “as needed” basis.*Maintains a satisfactory response rate for dealers and Credit Union members.*Exercise decision making in compliance with credit union policies, procedures, and lending regulations.*Recognize, structure, present and approve additional loan opportunities to maximize member benefits and relationship.*Provide adverse action notices according to proper regulatory guidelines.*Meet or exceed production goals for Consumer Loan Underwriter position.*Maintain satisfactory asset quality based on delinquency and charge-off percentages.

*Within unilateral lending authority and guided by the Consumer Loan and Home Equity Loan/Line score matrices, render individual decisions on consumer loan applications, after considering all factors relevant to the credit worthiness of the applicant and ensuring the loan conforms to Credit Union polices and procedures.*Respond to inquires concerning consumer credit and assist fellow staff and members with product information.*Used discretion and independent judgement in order to ensure loan application is given complete unbiased consideration.*Assisted management with the implementation of new consumer loan products, procedures and/or support services and recommend modifications where needed.
