I am a manufacturing engineer in fiber optic cabling. My responsibilities include updating and maintaining procedural documents. I am also responsible for creating solutions for any daily assembly issues. I work to increase efficiency of assembly while keeping costs and scrap numbers low. I work toward process solutions and ease of manufacturing while maintaining high quality.

My primary duty is to run, clean and maintain continuous polishers. I also work on spindle polishing to polish out smaller pieces. Part of my job also requires me to grind materials before transferring them to polishing. I am also required to use an X-ray machine to measure orientation of parts.

At LensCrafters, I am responsible for making the lenses that are used for glasses. I am responsible for generating lenses based on the type of lens and desired prescription of the lens. I then fine, polish and coat the lenses. I align the axis of the lenses, check the prescription and then edge the lenses to fit the customers frames properly. I also apply any extras ordered by the customer (i.e. color tints, anti reflective coating, ect.)

My responsibilities as a maintenance engineer are to clean the interior and exterior of a multi-tenant office building. I remove any trash laying around, clean and restock bathrooms, and take care of snow removal in the winter months. I also assist tenants that are moving in or out of the building. When an office is vacated, I take care of making it presentable for a realtor to show the space for potential new tenants. When a new tenant moves in, I paint the office the desired color and take care of carpet removal.
