Commenced employment as a design engineer with a contractor responsible for design, detailing and production of precast concrete elements, fabricated in a factory occupying a site area of 1500sq.m. Eventually was also given additional tasks involving management of plant operations and ten staff members comprising of draughtsmen, works manager and labourers. These additional tasks included the scheduling of works, material / product quality control management, cliental correspondence, and quotation / invoicing tasks.In order to further develop his professional skills and increase his awareness of international construction developments, Stephen has been continuously involved with international design competitions. These have been undertaken on his own accord and during his private time.Following commencement of a post graduate degree, Stephen chose to focus his career within the structural engineering firm by joining a leading Maltese architectural / structural engineering firm. Was employed as a senior structural engineer with TBA and was responsible for design and detailing of a variety of architectural and structural projects, site supervision and management of projects within an office team consisting of a varying number of junior engineers and draughting personnel, whilst retaining his role as structural consultant for PPB Malta Ltd.Stephen has founded a structural engineering firm, iAS - Innovative Architectural Structures Ltd., and occupies the position of director.Specialties: Structural / civil engineering, architectural design, planning design consultation and application.
