By analysing this data we were able to chart trends in the changing economic burden of breast cancer in the Republic of Ireland. The project was supervised by Prof Michael Kerin (Dept of Surgery) and funded by the National Cancer Institute, Ireland.
Summer Studentship
Using a Dunn chamber we studied the chemotaxis of vascular smooth muscle cells to different concentrations of Angiotensin II and glucose. As well as working with Dunn chamber and serial image capture and chemotaxis analysis software, I also acquired experience in techniques of tissue culture, ELISA and western blot.
