Summer StudentshipNui Galway Jun 2009 - Sep 2009GalwayA chart review was conducted documenting all treatments and investigations received by women diagnosed with breast cancer, over two 2-year periods, 1995-96 and 2005-06. By analysing this data we were able to chart trends in the changing economic burden of breast cancer in the Republic of Ireland. The project was supervised by Prof Michael Kerin (Dept of Surgery) and funded by the National Cancer Institute, Ireland. -

As well as working with Dunn chamber and serial image capture and chemotaxis analysis software, I also acquired experience in techniques of tissue culture, ELISA and western blot. -
