Getting to the truth behind todays mass of people and business data is what everyone has aspirations to do - of course there are many organisations out there who can help lead companies to varying levels of understanding. In the 4 years I have been specialising in analytics there is still a huge blocker for companies to get to the truth and ironically its the data itself. Coming from many different sources getting it all to make sense can be a mammoth task. My one piece of advice to companies embarking on a deeper analytics journey and when they are speaking with vendors is to really drill down into how long onboarding or Implementation can take. Don't settle for first value from software if final value is 3 years into the future! Many modular solutions deliver results in subsets of data which when onboarded actually take many years to create a holistic view of what's happening in a business. Really test out the data Integrations/API's etc. This will prevent the disappointment I have seen from many clients who come to the realism they bought into a first value sales pitch without really checking how long second and subsequent value will follow.
