I previously served as a partner with Wiley, Rein & Fielding, a Washington DC law firm specializing in broadcasting and telecommunications and was a partner with Coopers & Lybrand, an international accounting and consulting firm, where I specialized in the media and telecommunication industries, structuring acquisitions and advising nonprofit organizations. I was an appointee by the Governor of Virginia to the Virginia Research and Technology Advisory Commission. I have also served as Chairman of the Board of Rectors of Christopher Newport University and have taught at the Law School of The College of William and Mary. I am a CPA and attorney, and received my B.A. from Duke University, and my J.D. from the College of William and Mary Law School, and my M.L.T. from Georgetown University Law School.
