Stephen Haran is a Online Data Recovery Consultant at FreeDataRecovery.us at FreeDataRecovery.us. He possess expertise in unix, linux, disaster recovery, vmware, windows server and 9 more skills. Colleagues describe him as "One month ago (October 2022), I was trying to do a backup copy of my data on my Qnap (ts421, 4 HDDs, raid 5) since one of the HDDs was degraded. Alas, a second HDD went down and as a result all my data were not accessible anymore: more than 10 years of family photos and videos. Horrible, so stressful, we were so desperate, being not IT experts. We didn't have any backup copies.
Qnap customer service tried remotely to fix it but told me there was no way to remount the raid and advised me to replace all HDDs, but I would lose my data. I looked for some companies, but they were far (other continents) and asked for getting the HDDs physically to work on them. Luckily, I found Stephen's website recommended on the Qnap forum and reading the reviews, I decided to contact him.
Best decision ever: Stephen advised me step by step to gather the equipment (desktop computer with sata ports), was very professional and patient to answer all my non-IT-pro questions, was very honest on potential success/failure, and guided me to set up the system which could allow him to work on the 4 HDDs remotely. After some days of work, he could save like 99.xx% of all my data especially the most precious ones (family photos and videos). What a relief! We are so grateful! Lesson learned as well: we have now several backups, physical and cloud copies.
I hope that my review here will help people in same situation as me. You can trust Stephen to try his best to help. Thank you so much Stephen!
Sophie" and "Stephen helped me recover over 4Tb of data from a failed Lacie 4Big RIAD5. The controller had failed in the enclosure, so luckily the drives were intact. Stephen patiently guided me through the process of creating a remove recovery setup using an old MacPro computer. His software solution is fantastic, allowing him to connect remotely and access the drives. After a bit of work, we managed to copy everything from the drives without any issue.
Security and trust are always concerns when allowing others to connect to your network remotely. However Stephen proved to be discreet, professional and entirely trustworthy. You couldn't hope for a better helping hand in times of crisis!
I'd thoroughly recommend Stephen whiteout hesitation. "
