Steve is one of Capco UK's original modern technologists. In his time at Capco he's helped form the Next-Generation Technology community, Capco R&D, Capco Architecture, the Data Science capability & the PhD Fellowship hiring programme.Currently, he is part of the senior leadership team for Capco Technology in the UK, and the lead for the PhD Fellowship scheme.Steve has made the top leaders group in the 2017, 2018, 2021, 2022, 2023 & 2024 Capco UK leadership surveys and also runs the 'specialist mentorship programme', helping the general consulting community transition into specialist skillsets.He is one of the London offices foremost experts in domain-driven microservice architecture. Spending the last 10 years covering roles such as:- Being the lead designer for a design authority which lead the design of an entire banking platform from scratch (now serving 20m customers)- Being the lead architect for the UK's first agency banking APIs, created for a UK T1 client- Running a team of architects helping a UK T1 commercial bank move their banking platform to the cloud- Most recently he ran a project to assess and recommend a new core banking solution to an International Bank.He has had previous experience in a client facing role within financial services, dealing day to day with relationship management and outcome expectation. He has also worked to provide services for a number of Tier 1 investment banks, trading firms and hedge funds, working in partnership to develop straight-through processing methods.Steve has a First class Masters degree in Astrophysics, and a PhD in Quantum Astrophysics from University College London.
