Starting as as internal sales for A B Controls and Technology Ltd back in 1981 I became the QA manager 10 years later having successfully introduced a BS 5750 compliant QA system. Already a member of the GAMBICA FLAG Group at that time and a member of the BSi committees GEL31/12 (Ex d) and GEL31/14 (Ex e) I became a founder member of the BASEEFA QA Committee on their behalf. With the introduction of ATEX I became the Authorised Person and combined my role in QA with product design and certification providing solutions for high current and high voltage cable connections in hazardous areas. In 2004 I was appointed as Technical Director and following a management buy-out in 2006 became the Director of Engineering for ABTECH Ltd. I continue as a GAMBICA FLAG member on the BSi committee EXL 31 and also represent them on the Impartiality committees of a UK Notified Body.
