After retiring in 2015 after 20yrs as Director of Studies at ICTE, University of Queensland, I returned to the classroom as a casual EL teacher, and taught on the Bridging English program, intermittently, until Feb 2020. I also administered the Brisbane based courses of the International Diploma In Language Teaching Management (IDLTM) from 2001 until 2015, and have been a trainer on many of the courses, particularly from 2016-2019 - a fantastic, unique course for language school managers and aspiring managers. I have taught in UQ's School of Languages & Cultures on the MA TESOL/Appl Lings program, and spent a month in both 2018 and 2019 teaching academic English at a theological college in Yangon, Myanmar. This course is now online with, this year, 32 students scattered around the country. Together with a team of dedicated teachers from NZ, we ran a successful 10-week program, despite constraints posed by COVID-19 and the devastating effects of the military coup.
