Hello, I am a Penn State University Class of 2021 graduate. I studied supply chain management, in the Smeal School of Business. During my time in school I was a member of various organizations, such as student government, where I found my love for working on a team. I was fortunate to serve as the Vice President of Penn States Smeal College Supply Chain Honors Society for my final year.During my summer breaks of freshmen and sophomore I was interning for Wegmans Food Markets. A nationally recognized grocery store based out of Rochester, New York. Wegmans empowered me to provide incredible customer service too all my customers. Prior to interning for Wegmans I started out working at the store level as a front end coordinator at the store level which allowed me to engage with customers on a one-to-one level to level and take care of their needs. While at the store level I have also had the opportunity to train employees on the company's values and beliefs. Working for Wegmans in a distribution setting, as an intern, I have been able to take what I have learned in school and apply it to the workplace. I love learning new ideas, and applying them in the real world. By working in distribution I had the opportunity to do both of these, and by utilizing my skills in Microsoft and WMS report my findings to leadership. To continuously improve everyday operations. The summer of 2021 I had the opportunity to join the Textron Systems team in Slidell Louisiana. During my time I had the ability to negotiate with suppliers to reduce material costs by up to 37% saving the company $1.1 million. I utilized ERP software to accurately forecast when shipments would arrive and to clear up blocked invoices to ensure suppliers were compensated promptly. I also used my time during that summer to set up a tracking system for cosigned material that could be used for years to come and future projects. In December 2021 I graduated from Penn State, and started my first job as an Operations Manger in the Target Global Supply Chain. I am enjoying my time, both as a demand planner and a people manager. In order to keep learning I signed up for a Project Management Certification course through Cornell University and completed the course in 2022.
