Performs groundwater flow and contaminant transport modeling for local and regional engineering firms and municipalities.

Provided hydrogeologic modeling analyses and aquifer-testing support for firm’s environmental group. Tasks included developing a groundwater flow and contaminant transport modeling to support the selection and design of a groundwater remediation system for industrial facility in Mississippi.

Performed hydrogeologic investigations, including quantitative analyses as they pertaining to water resources and mine- and construction dewatering.

Provided technical support to Bechtel projects with respect to construction dewatering, development of ground-water resources for water supply and other ground-water issues. The majority of the work performed pertained to the design, engineering and construction of fossil power plants and engineering services to the nuclear power industry. Assisted projects and clients in designing well fields and dewatering systems, procuring dewatering and other construction contractors and in obtaining environmental permits for well fields and dewatering systems. Performed extensive computer modeling to help design well fields and dewatering systems and to determine impacts of ground-water withdrawals on ground-water levels and quality. Examples of dewatering experience at Bechel include evaluating and providing corrective-action recommendations pertaining to excessive high ground-water levels at the Grand Gulf Nuclear Station located in Port Gibson, Mississippi; performing safety analyses to be submitted to an expert panel pertaining to dewatering for construction of an intake structure along an embankment dam that creates a 17 square-mile cooling-water reservoir at the Florida Power & Light Martin Plant - the embankment dam had failed several years earlier due piping below the embankment; and performing field studies modeling analyses and preparing construction dewatering specifications for construction of a coal-fired power plant in the Dupont Chambers-Works plant located in Deepwater, New Jersey.

Participated in a variety of hydrogeologic studies involving ground-water rights and ground-water contamination issues. Performed modeling analyses to support the design and/or evaluation of ground-water remediation systems and to provide technical support for litigation involving ground-water rights disputes in New Mexico and involving ground-water contamination at the Love Canal former chemical waste disposal site. Provided field support for the installation of ground-water monitoring and remediation wells and the sampling of ground water and soil for chemical analyses.

Conducted field investigations and compiled coal-resource data in the southern Appalachians and Gulf Coastal Plain. Performed geologic mapping and prepared reports for publication and for other government agencies.
