Director, Congressional Affairs
CurrentDirector of Legislative Affairs for the HQ, Army Space & Missile Defense Command. He serves as the primary focal point for the communication and coordination of all matters pertaining to the Army’s global space, missile defense, and high altitude capabilities with the Congress of the United States. Mr. Herring coordinates all responses to Congressional inquiry or investigation as well as directs the analysis of all legislation as it related to the conduct of space and missile defense within the U.S. Army. Monitors and advises on activities initiated by congressional committees and members of Congress that are of direct and indirect concern to the Command. Assessed congressional actions, reports, and conclusions. Prepares leadership for testimony before Congress. Develops, updates and implements a Congressional Engagement Plan that effectively supported the organization’s priorities and goals.
