I am a specialist in Energy and Climate Finance, with 38 years of international banking experience, based in the USA, Asia and Europe. I combine a deep knowledge of structured finance products with experience of high-level external engagement in energy and climate policy and markets development. As a member of ING's Energy Sector Global Management Team, I apply this in the evaluation of commercial strategies which take into account the risks and opportunities of the energy transition to net zero emissions, climate change action and sustainable development - from the standpoint of ING, our clients, society and the environment. My approach is defined by leadership, communication, engagement and collaboration. In addition to my primary job, I have always sought the chance to contribute to other projects and initiatives - both within and outside ING. The two of which I am most proud are:1. Heading ING's multi-location, multi-disciplinary, bank-wide project in 2011/12, which resulted in the establishment of its market leading Sustainable Finance department.2. Chairing the United Nations Environment Programme – Finance Initiative's (UNEP FI) Banking Committee, which initiated the Principles for Responsible Banking, launched at the UN General Assembly 2019 with one-third of the global banking sector as signatories.
