The JV was tasked with taking the shareholders into the Cloud market providing enterprise applications and infrastructure on demand. As CFO• I established a group of 5 companies in the UK, Europe, America and Asia including incorporation, and setting up banking and payroll. • designed and implemented new systems and processes, and commercial models, obtained asset financing, and managed and controlled all capital investment and R&D spend. The business model and structure was new to Atos and the role required continuous innovation and a flexible approach in order to find solutions to problems that had not been encountered before or anticipated in the original business plan, alongside coaching a management team who were mostly new to the company. -

A large proportion of the sector comprised companies in the Rail Industry. Key achievements:• implemented a programme of reviewing service delivery against contracts in order to identify additional billing opportunities generating £7m extra revenue and profit in the first year• led an acquisition of a key ticketing kiosk provider• re-negotiated an existing long term contract to bring payment structure in line with the investment requirements, generating an additional £4m of cash in year• reduced overdue debt from 25% of total debt to below 10%• designed and managed a UK-wide programme to ensure Profit Improvement Plans were in place for all major accounts and delivery units that delivered a 2% increase in profitability • led in developing the commercial proposition for new rail management and retailing products • initiated and led the implementation of a reporting and online forecasting tool (Business Objects and BPC) for the UK. The tool is now implemented throughout the Atos Group• defined how finance would support the business in the new UK organisation for which we received the CIMA award for Private Finance Sector Team of the Year award• recruited and developed a new team and processes focussed solely on Commercial and Contract management which drove substantial P&L improvement -
