I have been advising Vertu Plc on their acquisition of the Greenoaks Mercedes businesses, developing the business plan and writing a launch plan to ensure a successful and impactful transformation at completion.

Responsible for 5 Mercedes Benz and 2 Smart businesses in the North West of England.

A subsidiary of Lookers Plc, I am responsible for the day to day running of the business in all aspects. Employing circa 250 staff, across 2 multi-franchised locations, the business will turnover in excess of £130 million in 2012, having grown from £53m in 2003. Much of this growth is organic, although I have also overseen the integration of four new franchises in to the group, as well as managing the closures of an MG Rover and a Mazda outlet. Currently, the Group comprises 2 Land Rover, 2 Jaguar, 2 Volvo, Nissan, Hyundai and Peugeot, as well as a Parts Wholesale operation and an Accident Repair Centre.Each year, the company has achieved record sales volumes, delivered through a structured annual marketing budget as well as improved processes and investment in our people.

Representing Land Rover UK, I worked closely with 16 Land Rover franchised dealerships throughout Scotland and Northern Ireland. These dealerships were either small independently owned businesses employing from thirty staff, to larger Plc owned sites with approximately 65 staff.From agreeing annual unit allocations in line with market expectations to agreeing marketing plans and new model launches, this role required the ability to influence many different types of individual.

I joined the BMW Financial Services Group during their purchase of Rover and Land Rover to aid the set up of this new arm. Responsible for introducing the new business to the Rover and Land Rover dealer networks, I arranged the appropriate new and used vehicle funding plans, as well as implementing the training for all new products to the dealer staff. In a short time I was able to secure annual reciprocal business of £30m by building trust and credibility with the network.

I enjoyed rapid promotion through the ranks of motor finance, within Lombard North Central. The major funder of the motor trade at this time, the role provided me with considerable experience of the motor trade and the financial sector.
