I was elected as the Murray- Riverina Regional President in 2006 and represented the region on the State Council which consists of 40 business and industry representatives from across NSW. During this period I was the Chair of the Membership Committee and a member of the Climate Change Taskforce. After serving my term as Regional president I was elected as Member Elected Councillor and was a member of the Infrastructure and Workplace Skills committees.

I joined Economic Development Australia in its infancy and worked with the Board to build the organisation to become a respected part of the economic development community world wide. I was one of the original Australian Certified Economic Developer (ACEcD). The knowledge that I was able to gain from being part of this organisation has assisted me right through till today

I was the initial Chairperson for the NSW Chapter of Economic Development Australia and was very active in the development and promotion of putting economic development at the forefront of the NSW Government agendas with the assistance of the National Board.

I developed and managed key relationships with businesses across the Riverina region to provide support and strategic development advice on running and growing a business. Reported back to the NSW Business Chamber Board on strategic projects and programs to improve services while advocating for policy changes that benefited businesses. I would later go on to be appointed to the Regional Board for Murray-Riverina as the Chair and then represent on the State Board for another 10 years.
