I play a key part in customers' digital transformations by providing solutions in an Agile environment, enabling them to be more like digitally native businesses. Most recently I acted as the Principle Engineering Lead on a project for a global Energy enterprise client, in multi-disciplined, cross-organisational Agile teams. This required my leadership and communication skills as well as contributing to the solution architecture, working with the Product Owner to ensure accurate detail is captured in the User Stories, and also with 3rd parties to ensure end-to-end success of the project. Maintaining an understanding of the whole detailed architecture allows me to communicate this to the engineering delivery teams, answer any questions that may arise and ensure a coherent approach across the teams including DevOps and QA. I undertake reviews of the engineering teams' output to ensure SOLID principles are adhered to as well as the use of appropriate Design Patterns and Unit Testing. I have motivated the teams to set this standard and also promote this amongst others when they are peer-reviewing. I also engage them through coaching, mentoring and have also organised an occasional evening quiz. Occasionally contentious issues arise and so it is my responsibility to use a combination of influence and negotiation to achieve the best outcome whether that be a compromise or to make a decision one way or the other and bear responsibility for that decision. The solution itself has a Domain-based Event-driven Serverless architecture utilising AWS and code written in Microsoft C# .NET Core. The platform naturally scales out with demand and also is secured using best practices. I was extremely proud when the platform achieved a 100% first time pass score during a penetration test. This was previously unheard of by the client. This coupled with the business that the platform supports, EV charging, follows my passion in Sustainability. I have been able to quickly learn from the delivery of the solution and have also undertaken training to enable me to achieve AWS Certified Developer Associate twelve months after the project kick-off when I had no previous experience of AWS. My previous experience has seen me deliver commercial awareness, quality solutions and value on a wide-range of projects, many for well-known names. My recommendations from past colleagues showcase my ability to work and communicate well with stakeholders of all levels and apply thought to meticulous detail and every 'what if' scenario.
