An after-school program run from a $1 million NYSED grant. A fellow graduate student and I assisted school coaches and middle and high school students complete construction projects and research assignments. There was a week-long summer camp teaching students to design and run their own research projects. We also created the design for an after school math tutoring program for IMPETUS to improve under-privileged high school student's standardized math test scores.

Helped coordinate logistics for coaches and swimmers including meals & travel; managed swimmer conflicts & assisted in coaching swimmers during practices

Performed experiments to determine spray-driedpowder and slurry characteristics impact on fabricated materials properties. Powders weremilled in an Attritor Mill to modify particle size distribution. Powders were characterized using avariety of methods including particles size analysis and surface area analysis. A 3x3 samplinganalysis was done to determine the best method for characterizing the percent moisture in thepowders. The settling behavior, viscosities, and pH of the slurries were quantified. This workallowed Alcoa to implement a qualification process on incoming powder which improves yield.
