I work for John Dunphy Agri from May until August doing various amounts of machinery operating and when I am not working here I am working on my home farm. I usually do work involved with the production and harvesting of silage, slurry and farm yard manure spreading and various other jobs.

I worked on my home farm since I was able to and gained various skills and a vast amount of knowledge about farming. I completed jobs such as milking cows, machinery work, various work with calves and cattle, cleaning sheds, dehorning calves and various other jobs. In my spare time i do many of these jobs at home when I am not working else where or in college.

I worked in the Teagasc office in Kilkenny helping where I was needed fort the duration of my placement which was 15 weeks. I helped dairy advisors with jobs relating to their clients profit monitors and also their derogation applications. I helped the advisors, the derogation staff and also the administrative staff when required. I also went on many training days and webinars which broadened my range of knowledge.
