Stephen A. King is a reputable and seasoned trial lawyer with over 100 jury trials to verdict. His passion for justice has led him to obtaining several million dollar jury verdicts in the areas of civil rights and personal injury law. In 2015 Stephen served as a lead trial lawyer on a team of lawyers who obtained the largest non-economic wrongful death verdict in Riverside County of $40 million in 2015. Stephen’s other recent successes include a $1.1 million verdict against the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department for First Amendment violations in 2015 and a record-setting $3.1 million verdict against the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services in 2016 for Fourteenth Amendment violations. As recently as March of 2021 Stephen was part of a team of lawyers who obtained over $4 million in attorney fees from a civil rights case adjudicated in the County of Orange. Stephen was formerly a partner at the nationally recognized trial law firm of Carpenter, Zuckerman and Rowley prior to starting his own law firm in 2021. Stephen is a graduate of the Gerry Spence Trial Lawyers College and has served as an instructor/trial coach at both the Trojan Horse Method Trial advocacy program and the Trial By Human Trial program. In 2019 Stephen was recognized as a Most Influential Minority Attorney by the Los Angeles Business Journal and has since been honored to be selected as The National Black Lawyers Top 100 as well as The National Trial Lawyers Top 100 in personal injury and Top 10 in as well as Top 10 in civil rights. Stephen is most passionately a community leader who serves on the executive board of the John M. Langston Bar Association and the California Association of Black Lawyers. He is also a co founder of Justice-X civil rights group.
