Former CPA with Ernst & Young.I have been developing, building, and managing multi-family real estate (apartments) for the past 23 years.With Medallion, I offered consulting services to other multi-family companies in need of advice on student housing, affordable housing, and market-rate apartments. Since starting The Medallion Group, my partners and clients included Julian LeCraw & Company (now TriBridge Residential), University Furnishings, Progressive Capital Group, Full Circle Development, Hathaway Development Partners, Provence Real Estate, The Talbot Group, M-13 Construction, Core-Tech International, and Cortland Partners. During my time at The Medallion Group, I also served on the Board of Directors for the National Apartment Association as Chairman of the Student Housing Board.After 3 years of consulting for Cortland Partners on the Development/Acquisition/Property Management sides, I joined them as a full-time employee in December of 2013. As the VP of Construction Operations, I was heavily focused on building and developing the team of construction personnel, while working to continually improve the reporting, accounting, and business intelligence processes by which Cortland came to stand out in the apartment industry as the best in class. While at Cortland, we executed over $1 Billion in construction contracts, built/renovated over 30,000 units in less than five years, and grew our construction team from three people to over 300 associates during my tenure.I left Cortland in April of 2018 to start bSide Partners, LLC for the purpose of acquiring and renovating student housing developments, thus combining my prior student housing expertise with the high-end renovation program we developed at Cortland.
