Recruited to build data infrastructure for Coupang’s first long-term Capacity Planning department. Built tools for data ingestion, validation, analysis and visualization.Provided data centric planning for the number of cold and dry chain FCs needed and their optimal location based on current supply and projected demand for the next rolling five years, working across multiple teams, including Central Finance, Instock, Real Estate, Logistics and Supply Chain Design.Analyzed capacity trends by category and created a Capacity Data Center that automated reports and shared data across the organization.Key Accomplishments:Grew network from 10 FCs with 26M units of inventory to 33 Core FCs with 96M units, plus 12 Grocery/Cold Chain FCs with 2.8M units.Evaluated Supplier Fill Rate of vendors with lowest fill rates, identified root causes and created new ordering algorithm that resulted in high truckload utilization, optimized production, and a significant reduction in labor and transportation costs. Increased fill rate from 78% to 91% in two months.Spearheaded business-critical project to improve employee hiring and retention rates: Analyzed bus routes that transported workers and redesigned them according to population density, demographics, time spent in transit, and location of FCs. Results: For cold chain network, increased employee hiring and retention rates by 17% in Q3 2021 and by 23% in Q4 2021.
