I have retired as of December 8, 2023.Stephen J. Kovatch sold Compliance Technologies, Inc. to August Mack Environmental of Indianapolis in December 2021 after 31 years of managing the company. He continues to manage the Cleveland office for August Mack as Senior Client Manager. He received his Bachelor of Science Ed. in Earth Science from Bowling Green State University in 1973, and he is a Master-Level Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, (No. 6126) through the Institute of Hazardous Materials Management in Rockville, MD. Mr. Kovatch focuses on assisting clients in establishing corporate regulatory compliance programs in the areas of air, water, waste management, and safety. He has advised hundreds of clients in the development of their programs by employing broad-scope methods such as facility audits, raw material use and process assessments, evaluation of written management plans, and appraisal of employee training programs. Mr. Kovatch also provides direction to industrial facility owners who are active in the transaction of contaminated property by defining objectives, coordinating soil and water sampling protocols, risk assessment, and remedial / cleanup activities.
