The field of telemedicine experienced monumental disrupter in March of 2020 as the Covid -19 virus spread across the nation. Telemedicine became the method of choice over-night for patients to stay connected to their medical providers and for infected populations to receive acute care. As the director of telehealth at the University of Kansas Health System, our focus is to continue to provide world class health care to the populations we serve in the best of times and the worst of times. The doctors, nurses, administrators, IT professionals and an army of caring people, have caught the vision of how telehealth can positively impact patient care and have transitioned nearly 1500 patient visits per day to a telehealth encounter. And we are just getting started. :-) Keep Calm and Telemed On!
