More than 38 years ago, Stephen L. Davis created a business to honor the legacy of his father William E. Davis, who was known for his integrity, pride and hard work. Today, the Will Group comprises several entities that provide diverse electrical products, services and solutions. The company’s mantra is, “Where There's a Will, There's A Way."Mr. Davis established Electrical Resource Management, the first Will Group company, in 1986. Since then, the Will Group has launched numerous additional companies, created hundreds of jobs and won large-scale projects including a ComEd and City of Chicago project to manufacture and replace over 300,000 high-quality LED lighting fixtures, a Chicago Housing Authority contract to manage the construction of the Altgeld Gardens public housing’s Plan for Transformation, and the Kennedy King College campus at 63rd and Halsted in Chicago. Since 2010, The Will Group has consistently been recognized by Black Enterprise Magazine as one of the country’s Top 100 Black businesses.The Will Group's existing 60,000 square foot industrial business center centralizes and expands its existing facilities. Phase 1 consists of a 3.3 acre parcel of land that had not been on the City of Chicago's tax rolls for nearly two decades. The mixed-use facility is used for contract manufacturing, electrical vehicle charging stations, smart LED light fixtures, capacitor banks, electrical distribution, MRO warehousing, and more. The Will Group is adding an additional 75,000 sq foot facility for Phase 2 that will be used to expand our additional service offerings and create clean energy jobs. Phase 2 will also include strategic partner Inherent home whose mission is to transform lives, communities, and generations through homeownership. They are building prefabricated homes for vacant lots in the city using a local, diverse workforce.Mr. Davis has a passion for economic development and has been an active member of Chicago’s business community for several decades. He formerly served as Commissioner of Aviation (Board Chair) of the DuPage Airport Authority, which oversees airport and golf course operations as well as the development of a 500-acre business park. Mr. Davis also serves on the following boards: PMI Energy Solutions, Heska Corporation, and Inland Real Estate Trust, specifically on Inland’s Audit and Compensation committees. Mr. Davis previously served on the Board of Wheaton Bank and Trust, specifically on the Loan committee, and Board of the Trust Company of Illinois. Mr. Davis is a member at The University Club of Chicago.
