Setting up, Installing and Training for XP Pro, WEPOS based “Waiterpos” Hospitality POS Systems. Visiting site when required from the call login system to fix hardware and software issues. Taking support calls at the office when needed. Also setting up, supporting and training for Uniwell based POS systems

I provided 1st and 2nd line support for Photographic Retail Point of Sale Software and Photographic Digital Kiosk Software using UltraVNC and Logmein to gain remote access to desktop environment. I logged all calls using the support log ticketing system. It was also my responsibility to setup hardware/software for installs and install and train on-site in a retail environment. The central POS database ran on Windows 2003 server if there were more than 10 client connections, otherwise, Windows 2000 and XP Pro SP2 and the database sat in MSSQL2005. For older installations running in BDE I had to, initially, convert all of the tables from the old borland database engine platform to SQL2005 and then index the tables making sure to backup the database first. I have experience using Transact SQL to extract and manipulate the database and to also create custom reports requested by customers. I also had to test the software for any abnormal functionality and report to development any possible software bugs. I setup the office SBS 2003 server allowing us to obtain IP’s for the local hosts, gateways, DNS and WINS. I set up Remote Web Workplace to allow us to access our internal LAN via HTTPS. This enabled our users in Norway to access their emails using Windows XP SP2 and Outlook 2003 via RPC over HTTPS without the need of a VPN connection – the SSL protocol was used for security once the connection had been established. The users also used OWA (Outlook Web Access) to access their emails online. I have experience of setting up VPN’s to allow external hosts to join a domain for the initial exchange setup, removing current exchange servers names and allocating new server names and then exporting and importing outlook components to be synchronized to the new mailbox location.
