As founder of Design and Technical Solutions Ltd, I provide design and mechanical engineering solutions on both freelance and contract basis (www.datsl.co.uk).An apprentice served Chartered Engineer with many years’ experience within mechanical design and technical/project management, I work well as both team leader and team member, always maintaining a calm and focused approach. Education in both mechanical and production engineering has given a balanced engineering perspective producing a full understanding of the NPI process and product lifecycle. The combination of degree-level systems management and school governor training have cultivated a skill set that sees through complex detail to strategic understanding.Responsibilities within my previous positions have included, engineering governance, mechanical engineering, design from conception to production, with project management and qualification testing, CE documentation and management of multidisciplinary teams through the entire product life cycle.I actively volunteer with a STEM organisation to inform young people about the world of engineering and encourage them towards an engineering career.
