I have worked with dozens of different water utilities since being a water professional for more than a decade. I have seen the best and the worst about the water industry in the Philippines. The Philippines is blessed with so much of this basic resource and yet a lot of communities still lack access to reliable 24/7 water supply. And despite this, water wastage remains at an alarmingly high level.The problems that we have are complex and cannot be solved overnight. But these complex problems make the water professionals in the Philippines some of the best around the world.We have a whole community continuously contributing in their own ways. Ours is the use of technology, particularly smart water management in helping deliver water to those that need it when they need it, and in helping reduce wastage.Everyone needs to realize the gravity of our problems.
